This limited-edition linocut print was inspired from visits to the Healesville Sanctuary and observing them during the "Spirits of the Sky" bird presentation and within the parrot aviary. The print was created from a single plate using six reduction carvings, with each colour rolled onto the plate and passed through the press. Whilst they are not threatened in the northern parts of Australia, their sub-species in the south-eastern parts are. The south-eastern sub-species feeds almost entirely on the seeds of Brown and Desert Stringybark and seasonally during summer on Buloke; the tree I chose to perch them on.
