In central Australia the intense reds and ochres of the landscape imprint deeply upon you, and continue to resound long after you leave. A sense of immutability and mystery is present . The inherence of permanence and stillness is profound and yet we know there are ancient, sacred knowledge paths that inhabit and traverse this land. They speak of relationship to everything within it. How to represent this with some small degree of authenticity and truth? Today I paint in oils and cold wax referencing photographs and brief pencil and water colour sketches from past visits.
