Based in Australia, Ying Tang works predominantly in watercolour, while also exploring acrylics and oils. Her art is inspired by the world around her, with the Australian landscape featuring prominently in her recent works, alongside cultural influences from China and Australia.
A graduate of the Hubei Academy of Fine Art, Ying worked as both an art teacher and professional artist in China before continuing her practice in Australia. While sculpture and ceramics are no longer her primary focus, they have played an important role in her career, including a major hotel commission based on Chinese fables and study with renowned ceramicists in Jingdezhen.
Ying’s work has been recognised internationally, winning prizes in China, Taiwan, Canada, and Australia, and is held in numerous public and private collections. She is a regular participant in Yarra Valley Open Studios, sharing her distinctive and evocative artworks with the community.
