mim kocher

I love creating sculptures that express my feelings about life matters, and make people smile.

ABOUT MIM:

Storyteller in Sculpture | Social Commentator | Recycled Materials Advocate

Based in Healesville with a studio overlooking the Great Dividing Range and bushland, Mim Kocher’s life has been dedicated to art in many forms. Formerly an art teacher and consultant, she now focuses on her own creative practice, crafting sculptures that provoke thought and reflection.

Using modelling clay and mixed media, Mim often builds on recycled bases, transforming found materials into expressive sculptures. Her work frequently highlights the dilemmas and absurdities of modern life, inviting viewers to engage with both beauty and critique.

In 2023, Mim was a finalist in the prestigious Yarra Valley Arts | Yering Station Sculpture Exhibition & Awards. Her sculptures are currently displayed outdoors near the restaurant at Yering Station Winery until 3 December.
