Creativity has always been a vital part of Karen Meuleman’s life—even if, at times, it has taken a quiet back seat. With a background in textiles, much of her art is shaped by a love for colour, texture, and form. She delights in the simple joy of “fiddling” with shapes and watching how a well-placed mark or unexpected juxtaposition brings harmony to the work.

Working across a range of media, Karen often combines textiles with other materials to explore the interplay between softness and structure, control and spontaneity. Her multidisciplinary approach allows her to follow curiosity wherever it leads—whether through thread, paper, paint, or prose.

Karen also writes, bringing a reflective, thoughtful voice to her creative practice.
