Jodie Westall is a self-taught watercolour and mixed media artist based in Victoria’s Yarra Valley. After beginning her creative career as a graphic designer, she transitioned to full-time art, combining her passion for painting with teaching watercolour through regular classes and workshops across Australia.
Jodie also owns and runs her gallery and retail space in Mt Evelyn, which is home to her Jodee Jewellery brand—a signature collection designed by Jodie and ethically handcrafted by a family of skilled artisans in Thailand. Inspired by nature, travel and meaningful connections, each piece reflects her passion for storytelling through design.
Inspired by travel, nature and the people she meets along the way, Jodie’s artwork explores the beauty and connection found in everyday moments. Her regular travels throughout Asia have enriched her perspective, influencing her use of colour, light and storytelling.
Working predominantly in watercolour, Jodie embraces the medium’s fluidity and unpredictability, balancing intricate detail with expressive movement. Her diverse subjects include florals, wildlife, architecture and portraiture, capturing not only the essence of each subject but also the emotions they evoke. Through her work, Jodie invites viewers to pause, reflect and rediscover beauty and connection in the everyday.
