ABOUT JODIE:
Intuitive Creator | Storyteller in Watercolour | Seeker of Connection and Beauty
Jodie Westall Kimpton predominantly work in watercolour, drawn to its fluidity and beautifully unpredictable nature. Her subjects range from florals and wildlife, landscapes and the occasional abstract. Inspired by travels and the people she’s met, she seeks to capture moments of beauty and the connection she feels with each subject.
Whether immersed in the delicate details and colours of a peony in bloom or painting a 400-year-old building that seems to whisper its history, every piece begins with curiosity, love, and connection. Through her work, she hopes to share those emotions, inviting viewers to pause, look a little closer, and experience the beauty, stories, and sense of wonder that inspired each painting.
Her studio is more than just a place to paint, it's her workshop, retail store and gallery space. Located near the wonderful Mt Evelyn Bakery and just a short stroll from great cafes, it offers not only a creative hub but also a wonderful connection to my local community. A large worktable gives her the freedom to spread out and immerse herself in the creative process. Mondays to Wednesdays are dedicated to painting and teaching, when the studio is filled with works in progress, new ideas and a little creative chaos. It's where every artwork begins before finding its place on the gallery walls.
She has exhibited in many art shows in recent years including: Camberwell Art Show, Castlemaine Art Show , Victorian Artists Society, and her own Solo show.
