ABOUT DIANE:

Potter | Ceramic Artist | Teacher

Based in Healesville in the Yarra Valley, Di Stirling is a ceramic artist whose career spans almost four decades, a national acquisition award, and years of teaching across three states. She completed a three year Associate Diploma in Ceramics in Darwin in 1986, followed by a year long pottery residency at the NT Crafts Council, during which a piece of her work was acquired through the NT Crafts Acquisition Award and now sits in the permanent collection of the NT Museum of Arts and Science.

Di has worked with clay on and off ever since, exhibiting widely across the Northern Territory, Victoria and Queensland. She has run adult and children's pottery classes and volunteered in the ceramics studio at Eltham Living and Learning Centre, and her eclectic approach has settled, over many years, into a style all her own.

Di moved to Healesville in August 2024 and has finally set up a pottery studio in her double car garage, a space she loves working in. For Open Studios, in her first year taking part, she will demonstrate wheel throwing and hand building for adults and children. She also runs workshops and opens her studio at other times throughout the year.
