Dani has lived in the Yarra Valley her whole life. Creativity & art have always been a large part of that.  However, it wasn’t until adulthood that she found a medium she was truly passionate about.

Dani's medium of choice is polymer clay, whilst metal is a close second.
Dani also likes to dabble into the world of mixed media, combining her love of these two mediums with any other items that seem to offer inspiration at the time! She also loves to experiment with other media when the opportunity arises.  Dani says, ‘For me, creating never becomes boring – there is always something new to learn and artistic boundaries to break’.

Most of Dani's inspiration comes from the world around her and combines her love of colour, texture and the art of Mokume Gane.

Dani says, "I live to create. I love the fact that each of my pieces represents a little part of my life and in turn my passion. I love that in a world where so often we are pressured to get things done as quickly and efficiently as possible, I can leave that world behind through my art. I love to share my work with the world and hope that people enjoy my pieces as much as I have enjoyed the journey of their creation".

Dani runs a creative studio, The Whimsical Bead, in Healesville that offers workshops in a variety of mediums run by not only herself but also local, interstate and international tutors.

Dani loves to teach and pass on her knowledge and she feels very lucky that people want to learn from her.

“There is nothing like empowering someone with knowledge and watching that knowledge grow as their enthusiasm does. Many of my students are amazed by what they have been able to achieve in class and leave with such a huge smile on their face and an eagerness to keep creating. It is a wonderful feeling to know that I’ve helped create that happiness and enthusiasm”.
